  1. If you’re worried that everything got deleted/uninstalled, just restart your computer. It should all magically re-appear.

On the whole, I like Windows 10 a lot better than 8 … but thats not saying much. It was annoying at first, but within a couple days I either got those things fixed or realized it wasn’t that big of a deal.

  2. It’s 2016, it’s called a Mac. There is no reason for most people to go through the torture of using Windows anymore…

  3. Macs…do what a pc can for thrice the price! Or just install any of the septjillion Linux distros and do it for free. I made my dad use Ubuntu for years and the only thing he couldn’t do was get a virus infection.

  4. Oh come on. If you don’t know what you’re doing! :/ I hope you get sorted quickly.

P.s. Macs also have a whole load of issues. I thought that myth had died a long time ago.

  6. I am going Mac next time. The only reason I’m not throwing this laptop out the window is because I just bought it.

It fucking blows when you update your virus software, reboot the computer and then everything is FUCKED. I’ve solved it but all day yesterday was wasted trying to figure out what the FUCK happened.

And nope, had nothing to do with my anti-virus. All win10.

  7. Niklas, I’m a computer tech, I installed Windows 10 on at least 5-10 computer every week. It’s a really great OS, very stable. I’m sure whatever the issue you had it was because of your Anti Virus. Which you shouldn’t even have to begin with, just use Windows Defender + Malwarebytes when you have an issue.

I would also recommend wiping the computer and doing a clean install (especially if you’re having this much trouble this early on)

  8. There is nothing wrong with Windows 10, it is WAY better than Windows 7. Do NOT install third party AV, only use the built in Defender and the free version of Immunet, you will be fine.

  9. …or just get a mac and not have to worry about malware or viruses. I have ZERO regrets switching from my PC to my Mac. Love my MacBook Pro!

  10. Yep, 10 sucks cock.

I’ll stick with 7. If it’s not broke don’t fuck with it. BTW, a nice little add on for those of us who hate M$ bullshit of trying to force us to use 10 is GWX control. It shuts down the nag ware and turns off the patchs and deletes the ones related and installed.
Fuck you M$. Stop trying to hijack my computer.

Macs are for fan boys who don’t know shit about the real world. If you can’t

  11. Stop using your third party anti-virus? Based on what?

    Try some objective reviews instead.

The independent test site AV-Test.org reviewed Window Defender version 4.8 running under Windows 10 64 bit. Their results showed that in Detection of widespread and prevalent malware discovered in the last 4 weeks Defender scored 99.7% in March,
99.8% in April. This is ABOVE AV-Test’s Industry Average of 99.0%. Byt in Protection against 0-day malware attacks, inclusive of web and e-mail threats (Real-World Testing) Defender scored 88.9% in March, 88.0% in April. This is BELOW AV-Test’s Industry of Average: 97.0%

Performance metrics for Defender were at or above Industry Averages.

In PCMag.com’s “The Best Antivirus Protection of 2016” published last month, the reviewers made the following statement:

“Almost all of these products are traditional, full-scale, antivirus tools, with the ability to
scan files for malware on access, on demand, or on schedule. A couple are outliers, tools meant to enhance the protection of traditional antivirus. As for just relying on the antivirus built into Windows 8.x or Windows 10, that may not be the best idea. In the past, Windows Defender has performed poorly both in our tests and independent lab tests It did score several wins last year, and it earned decent scores in several more recent tests. Even so, our latest evaluation indicates that you’d still be better off with a third-party solution.”

  12. I have been working in IT since 1993 and with computers since 1988. My first PC had MS-DOS 3.1 and no harddisk. I’ve used every windows version, worked on Unix for years and in the old days VAX VMS. Since 5 years I switched to using macs privately – still have to use Windows at work. And I never want to go back. So easy to work with, no update hassle, no antivirus hassle, feels natural, smooth, fast…
And… by the way… When I had to choose my work laptop (2015 Dell Ultrabook, 250 GB SSD, 8GB, i5)… It was more expensive than my Macbook Air. Just saying. And my 2013 MBA seems faster. And is thinner/lighter. And nicer.
