Boob Map: Average Size by Country

Would you believe it if I told you that a group of scientists spent their time creating a map that reveals the average size of women’s breasts based on geographic location? As unlikely as it sounds, it’s true. In 2012, the genetic testing company 23andMe documented the various markers that determine bust size in women—a trait passed down from mothers to daughters.

According to these studies, breast size varies by country, and in this article, we’ll take a look at some of the most interesting data that has emerged over the years.

In the Americas, women from the United States, Colombia, and Venezuela top the list with larger sizes. Joining this club are Icelandic, German, Danish, Czech, and even Croatian and Bulgarian women. Of course, not all of this is natural—many of these figures may be (literally) inflated due to breast augmentation surgeries, a procedure that’s becoming increasingly normalized.

On the other hand, Argentine women (along with Chileans, Brazilians, and Uruguayans) fall into the medium-size range. This same bust size is shared by French, Italian, and many other European women. It’s interesting to note that countries with strong immigration influences, such as Argentina and Chile, show similar patterns to those of European descent.

On the third step of the podium are Mexican, Cuban, Dominican, and Ecuadorian women, among others. These are women with smaller sizes, although still within the global average range.

The Smallest Breasts in the World

Rounding out the list are women from Bolivia and Guatemala, along with several Asian nations like Japan, South Korea, and Mongolia. With smaller sizes (also known as “A” cups), these regions reflect a strong genetic influence, as well as lifestyle factors that may affect these measurements.

According to the study mentioned at the beginning of this article, there are seven genetic markers that influence breast size, with these traits passed down from generation to generation. This genetic factor, along with trends, preferences, and even access to cosmetic procedures, paints a highly varied picture.

In this case, it’s impossible not to mention Lima—a perfect example when it comes to smaller breasts, as seen on websites like Superkines. However, thanks to the mix of Indigenous and European roots, there are also Peruvian women who fall into the medium size category, placing them in an interesting spot on the global spectrum.

When talking about breast size, it’s surprising to realize that it’s not just about numbers or unusual maps, but about understanding how genetic, cultural, and social factors shape our societies. Every size and every measurement tells a story, and amid it all, cities like Santiago, Berlin, and Lima remind us that we are a melting pot where diversity is our greatest asset.
