The Modern Definition of a Nympho

We have all heard the word ‘nympho’, which is a short abbreviation of ‘nymphomaniac’. Most of us associate it with women who just can’t get enough sex, but the reality is that the term actually was created to coin an illness that involves sex addiction and out of control compulsions. In fact the real definition of a nymphomaniac isn’t something positive, but yet we keep seeing the word being used on naughty sites like it’s a good thing. That is because people who use the word nympho often refer to something lesser; so let’s take a look at the contemporary meaning behind the word as we all know it today.

The older meaning
Going back one hundred years or even more, there wasn’t much women could do without having men branding and name-calling them. The modern meaning

So the bottom line comes down to this: The meaning of the word ‘nympho’ depends very much on who says it, and whilst there are people out there who use it as a negative term, there are a lot more men who truly see it as a good thing. Of course we don’t want to see a woman completely losing it to her impulses, but we really do like the idea that women can be into sex. So when the word ‘nympho’ comes from the mouth of a good person, it’s not like they trying to put women down; but rather because they are interested in having some fun!
